We´re writing from the bustling port town of Puerto Montt, Chile, awaiting the sailing of our vessel, the Navimag, which leaves today at 4 p.m. It is misting lightly, and right now the water is very tranquil. We will sail four days through the Chilean fjords, and when we disembark we will be much farther south, and we will be heading into the heart of Patagonia--Fitz Roy and Torres del Paine.
A map of the ferry route, pictures from past (suspiciously sunny) journies, and the "entertainment schedule" (!! necessary in case of lots of rain, I think) are here.

Well, it is an orchid in my book. First time I was able to check out the blog. I am off for an unprecedented 5 days, just skiied at Killington with hardly any snow, no real snow anyway. Can't believe it's summer there. But not too much sun?? ha ha. Looking forward to seeing pics from ferry.

I checked out the ferry web site, and the ferry route threading its way thru ALL THOSE ISLANDS was mind-boggling!! Did it remind you of the boat ride we took in Vancouver? Hope fog didn't block too many of your views...it sure must be wonderful to travel on the water between walls of mountains! And, judging by the website pictures, you must have passed glaciers calving into the sea. Tell us about temperatures! "Going South" may not necessarily mean "getting warmer".
Funny to read about Bonnie's Killington trip here on your blog site - Mom
