Diminutive white heather, growing in the higher heath-like terrain. Smaller than our heather.
A wonderful, tiny white flower (different than the heather) that smelled as sweet as a hundred spring mornings. It perfumed our hikes.
On December 7 we dapart for a six week sojurn into Patagonia, the southern region of Chile and Argentina that straddles the Andes. It is a land of glaciers and penguins and pinnacles and fjords. We will finally see the southern cross for the first time. We get to have another "longest day of the year" on December 21. What else awaits on the far side of the planet? We'll let you know what we find. Meantime, be healthy, happy and have a great new year! --Rosemary and Michael

Well, we might have flowers here soon too. It certainly isn't snowing or winter-like. Although it was in the NH moutains, check out my hike pictures.
